What you pay in Canada
The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 lists at $239.95 and sells closer to $180–$200 on Amazon.ca. The Beats Fit Pro runs about $200 new and drops to roughly $130 refurbished. At street prices they land within about $50 of each other, so cost rarely decides it.
Sound and awareness
This is the real split. The Shokz leaves your ears open, so you hear traffic, cyclists, and people while you train. The Beats seals in with active noise cancelling and pushes deeper bass, which suits a loud gym or a commute. For road running, open ears matter more than isolation; indoors, the Beats does more.
Fit and battery
The Shokz weighs about 30g, hooks over the ears, and never touches the ear canal, so there's no in-ear pressure on long sessions. The Beats locks in with wingtips when they match your ear shape, but can feel sore after a few hours and loses noise cancelling when the fit slips. Battery runs 12 hours on the Shokz with no case, against 6 in the Beats earbuds, 27 with the case. Both charge over USB-C, and only the Shokz is rated IP55 for heavy rain.
